It's here! After thinking about doing this site for more than a year, I
finally got it done. I ended up with many of the family photos, lots
and lots of them, and for years they have been sitting unseen in boxes
and envelopes around the house. So I started scanning them in, in the
hopes of making them available in some form to the rest of the
family. I have a lot scanned in, but many many many more to go,
old photographs as well as slides (have not even started on the
slides). My plan, when I'm done, is to transfer all the photos onto CD,
which will be available to anyone who wants a copy. In the
meantime, I'll be putting some of them up on the website.
I need more photos! As you'll see as you go through the sections, I'm
missing a lot of time...while I have lots of childhood photos of Jack,
Sachiko and Brian, their teen and adult years are missing. If you want
to provide photos for the site, I'd be very grateful. Also missing are
photos of spouses - their early years, if you wish to provide them.
I also need dates - birthdays and anniversaries - for the calendar
that'll be set up at the family email list at yahoogroups. While I know
birthdays for Mike, me, Rob, Paul, Jack, Sachiko and Brian, I'm
clueless on everyone else, as well as dates for wedding anniversaries.

We have a family email list! Battenfeldfamily@yahoogroups.com. This is
a private list for members of the family, relatives and invited
friends. It will be used largely to notify people when the website is
updated, and of important family dates. I've set it up so all
members can post, so it can be used for family chat as well. To join,
